It looks like Autumn (on Instagram)

Fall is my favorite season. This may have something to do with my birthday, and definitely has something to do with apple cider doughnuts. Right now I can't imagine living somewhere that doesn't experience seasons, but I 'm sure I will feel differently in a couple months :) Here are a few bits and pieces of life in Ithaca:

Adam and I have been waking up early on the weekends to drink an entire french press and play acey deucey. The leaves are changing and the gorges look gorgeous! And, I am attempting to knit Adam a scarf. Things are pretty cozy here.

Do you live somewhere without seasons- do you miss them? Do you know how to knit (help!)?

I'm back!

What can I say? Life got in the way again. I started online classes and they are the worst.

In true form, I studied ten hours a day, took hundreds of pages of notes, read every page assigned and then... stopped.

I'm back to my slacker ways, and (hopefully) back to blogging.

WineStations

Last weekend our friend John was visiting and we went to a wine bar, Corks and More, in Ithaca that uses WineStations; have you heard of them? They are like vending machines, but for wine.

When you walk into the wine bar you are given a swipe card to load money onto, and a menu of all the wines they offer and what machine you can find them in. We walked around with our cards, inserted them into the machine, picked our wine, and chose between sip, half glass, and full glass.

I was so caught up in taking the above picture that I accidentally pressed the button twice, and paid for two half glasses of wine- which was more expensive than one full glass! Oops.

It was a lot of fun. I love that you can try sips of the wine. I always want to ask the bartender for one before choosing a glass, but I feel weird. I think it would have been more fun with a larger group. There were so many wines to try, and only three of us, but we tried.

It amazes me that these people just happen to look cool and chic when their photos are snapped.

PS. Do you know the NYT fashion photographer Bill Cunningham? He recently took a picture of my sister's two dogs while they were in central park- I've been on the look out for their fashion debut :) Check out his documentary, if you haven't seen it. It was awesome!

India: Arriving and Adjusting

I started the story of my trip to India in this post, and am just now continuing it. I hope you weren't holding your breath in anticipation :)

I was perusing the blog world today, and came across this link up. I haven't posted much about myself yet, and thought this would be a fun way to start.

1.What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?

I would write a novel, produce a talk show, open a cupcake shop, and become a world traveling journalist- at the same time.

2. If you had only six months left to live, what would you do with the time?
I would put myself in a ridiculous amount of debt traveling the world, giving money to anyone who needed it, and eating very expensive desserts. 

3. If a front page news article was written on you, what would the headline be?

Young, Educated, and Unemployed. Oh wait, that is a real headline- and might as well be about me.

4. What is your biggest pet peeve?
The over use of exclamation points (!!!)

5. What is your favorite chick flick movie?

Roman Holiday- classic chick flick.

hair cut

I'm doing it; I'm pulling the trigger; I'm making the move; I'm getting my hair cut! I never get my hair cut, I mean never. I would tell you how long it has been since I had my last cut but it is a great source of embarrassment for me, and you probably don't care anyway.

After months of ripping my hair out brushing my hair for hours every morning and enduring Adam's home school braid jokes, I decided to make the appointment. I am notorious for getting too excited about impending hair cuts and chopping way too much off, or on one regretful occasion dying it jet black, because I 'want a change'. I've developed a fear of hair cuts, and my poor decisions. Not this time my friends! I have been doing my Pinterest research.

I think I have decided on some sort of a long bob. My hair is really long right now, so it will be a big change but not too crazy. I have also been thinking about bangs- but I'm fairly certain that will result in another year of avoiding a hair cut!
